As a team, we battled sleep deprivation, long drives, near-missed connection flights, and different flight times. But we made it to Antigua! Today was spent mostly learning about Guatemala, the ancient capital of Antigua, and chicken buses. Fun fact! One of our team member's name, Oriana, shares the same name/pronunciation as the Orellana chicken bus that runs between Guatemala City (Guate for short) and Antigua.
We safely arrived at Dona Mary's hostel and spent the rest of the day exploring Antigua, central park, ruins, and old churches. We discovered that getting lost is the best way to learn our way around Antigua and back to the hostel. Luckily, we had a delicious meal waiting for us after our exploration.
Lastly, the team has discussed our future project roles and the game plan tomorrow. We're looking forward to meeting with our contractors, Garden of Hope, and getting a first-look at our completed foundation!
